Sierra Vista Family Medicine Residency Program

The Sierra Vista Family Medicine Residency Program (SVFMRP), located in San Joaquin, California, is an accredited 4-person per year residency training program created as a teaching health center, led by the Fresno Healthy Communities Access Partners, a consortium of community health organizations. This teaching health center was formed in response to the shortage of primary care physicians in the Central San Joaquin Valley, with financial support through the Affordable Care Act. As such, one of our goals is to train and retain exceptional, culturally-competent family physicians in this region, with particular emphasis on practice in community health centers and other areas that reach medically underserved populations.
